UD-CPS2: Fully Consolized Capcom Play System 2

They used cabs in the arcade room for the tourney. There was one UD-Cps2 in the BYOC area.

Just finished reading the entire thread. I just bought a Marvel Vs Capcom B board in the process. I am definitely getting one of these. Now if I could just find a Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo or X… There is a local scene here called EXP Gaming (Oak Park, IL) I will see if they will run a tournament with this!! Thanks UD!!

Glad you guys are enjoying these as they spread around to various gatherings!

If anyone is wondering what’s going on with these, I am still building them, but very slowly and I feel bad that it’s taking me so long (I am months and dozens of orders behind. I don’t typically take money up front, so I’m glad I’m not sitting on a bunch of people’s money, but I still hate being so behind like this). I’m hoping to be caught up and have some extras built before EVO, but if the first few months of this year are any indicator as to how the rest of the year will go, I’m not so foolish as to make any promises.

So I guess Dremel vs. Pins are a 10:0 matchup.

Planet RV and Wandfeuer (German guys you sold one) brang it at some gathering in Nancy, France, it had huge succes as expected ^^ They are supposed to bring it again at Stunfest in Rennes, France, for some hotel freeplay lol ! In Lyon, we can’t wait for the one you have on your to-built list for me lol !

See you soon at EVO !

Team Schlenkerwili is the savior of EU ST.

Are these still being produced?

i believe so
fatboy. i just got mine in yesterday and it works great.

Yup. Undamned is working on a batch right now. To be sent out to a whole bunch of lucky people prior to Evo. I believe some people are even slated to get them after Evo?

guess im waiting til Brian announces next batch. i just hope he doesnt get burned out.

Now all we need is a CPS2 flashcart.

That’s Darksoft’s next project.

I see a lot about CPS3 but can’t find anything about CPS2.

He announced it on the Neo forums, he won’t go into detail about it until the ST-V carts are done (maybe a few weeks or a month or more). Bookmark the site and check back on it from time to time.

I didn’t get a chance to fully read through it, does he do flash carts for all arcade types?

No, he started with decrypting CPS3 carts, then developed a custom bios for them. No battery was needed afterwards, now carts could be resurrected/converted. Then he moved onto converting Atomiswave games to Naomi. Once he hit a wall with that, he moved onto the ST-V flash cart. When those are done, he said he will finish up with the AW to Naomi conversions and focus on a CPS2 multiboot board, not sure if that means a flash cart/board or what.

Well it’d definitely make one of these a more viable product, not every day you find CPS2 games at the flea market.

Yeah, CPS2 flash cart will be a dream come true. CPS1 would be a godsend as well. Darksoft also has plans for Taito F3 flash carts. I’m also a big F3 fan (F2 would be sweet as well)

I didn’t think sony manufactured those A/V multi out ports for the public. where are you getting those? I certainly hope you’re not sacrificing playstations for them

Well, that was out of left field…

On a weekly basis, game shops and other sellers are dumping stacks (literally) of broken PS1s on ebay. Theoretically, someone could buy them, track down parts to repair them, repair them, track down power/av cords and controllers for them (which they don’t come with in these broken lots) and lose money reselling them (as a value reference, my local retro game shop sells guaranteed working PS1 w/ accessories for $15). I on the other hand repurpose them. There are many things of value in these outside of the AV ports. If you find it your life calling to save the broken Playstations, hop on ebay and start buying. I buy hardly any compared to what is available.
