Introduction
I have decided to run a ranking battle season for 3rd strike since well… TGA is no longer going to be running many tournaments. The gaming club has given me the capacity to run these tournaments. Currently it will be run on ps2’s so you will need to bring your own controller. By the end of october there will be an arcade machine with sanwa parts in there running the MAME version of 3s.

THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE TO THESE TOURNAMENTS… JUST SHOW UP!

Venue and dates
The venue is the gaming club in the memorial union on the URI campus. The gaming club is located on the 3rd floor of the union and has 3 usable TV’s as well as 3 ps2’s so the tournaments will not run very long… Hopefully end by 10pm so that there is time for everyone to get home in time to get enough sleep for work/school the next morning.

The dates for the ranking battles is as said in the title bi-weekly;
October 3rd
October 17th
October 31st
November 7th
November 21st

#5

Tourny room changed… i will let you know tomorrow where it is being held but it is still in the memorial union.

#6

whats the physical address of this place

#7

tourny canceled for this wednesday, there were some complications with reserving the room (the dude who was doing it for me didn’t fucking do it)

i might run it next week and just do 2 weeks in a row

first post updated with physical address

#8

there should be cvs2 and mvc2 along with 3s and why would you have a tournament on halloween no one will show up to that wouldn’t it make more sense to have tourneys on the weekends instead of wednesdays when everyone has to work

#9

these are for the locals caddles… and i’m gona be running monthlies for everything… but i dont have a DC so someone would need to bring one.

Monthlies would be…

3s
GG: AC
T5 dr (if someone can bring a ps3)
mvc2
cvs2

also the dates are being changed, cause my arcade cabinet wasn’t done yet.

#10

wouldnt the point of having tournaments in the ri/ma area be fpr the entire scene as in the usual cast of people that show up instead of only having uri people involved thats kinda odd youd get a lot more ppl if you held them on the weekends which most tourneys run on also classes are on wednesday but anyway they are your tounreys but it would make a lot more sense

#11

i can’t physically run more than 1 game at a time for weeklies… not possible, there isnt enough space.

i’d do a monthly for everyone because i’d have to rent out a big space, but bi-weeklies for local people.
