Well, for the past week or so I’ve been working on video clips of various character VC’s. I originally only intended to just do a few, but some friends of mine requested a few more, and a few more, and then suddenly I have 8 characters done. I don’t want to make another combo video, because I just don’t. But this has been interesting enough for me that I think I would like to continue working on them, perhaps untill I get all the SFA3 characters done. I don’t know how useful they are since I’m really just rehashing old news, but I don’t want them to go to waste either.

I’ve been going at a steady pace of one a day, except on the weekends. I’ve just been going in the order I’m comfortable with.

So, I’ll put them up on Youtube and post them here as I complete them. Please feel free to post comments, corrections, or any add-ons you can think of. I really don’t mind adding on a new combo.

And please feel free to submit clips of your own. This doesn’t have to be just my project.

Is the audio desyncing for any of the vids? Some one told me the Zangief and Vega ones had an audio desync.

yep they desync. Sometimes youtube just does that in their conversion.

But you have a degrading desync… ? Is your master (well, the vid you uplaoded to youtube) perfect? If you encode with lower quality audio, sometimes this happens.

What codec did you use?

BTW: I don’t see Fei Long, Guile, Deejay, or T.Hawk in that list… :wgrin:

Yeah, but for the most part it sounds like the SFA3 VC’s work on other SFA3 characters in Hyper Alpha. But these are more for the people who like to play vanilla SFA3, I suppose.

I don’t think it was youtube, I fixed it on my end. Need to fix the Vega one too, I think?

I don’t hate the new characters. :B

The majority of the combos should still work in HSFA against other SFA3 characters. I tried some of them in Hyper Alpha and they worked fine against other SFA3 characters, but the invalid ones fail against non-SFA3 chars.

This is kind of a dumb idea, but it might work. James Chen and i did this one ghetto SFA3 Guile combo in the 2HitCombo vid where the opponent jumps over Guile as he’s doing the Sonic Boom and they walk all the way across the stage getting closer to it. Then Guile air throws opponent onto the Sonic Boom.

So i’m thinking same exact scenario, except have the opponent use the Darkstalkers-ISM and pushblock. That will get Guile (or any other character for that matter) ahead of their FB way faster. Maybe you could do an interesting combo with it one of these days when you’re bored of trying some random Birdie VC that isn’t being cooperative.

Actually that sounds doable. It might even be possible in vanilla SFA3, since Juni has a pushblock and a quick teleport, and V-Dan also has a pushblock and can move around very quickly with his air qcb+K.

If not them, then probably Darkstalker-ism Rolento or Guy.

[Edit] I forget if Charlie can command dash ahead of his SB or not – but if he can then point is moot.

that rolento VC vid was tight, i like that wall jump crossup the most. how do u do those crouch cancel j.mps?

after countless attempts, i still cant do it.

i want to request a chun li or sim vc vid

Hold down+toward as soon as you leave the ground to avoid his super jump/command jump. Jump toward MP. Time the first one so that you’re close to the ground and then progressively aim “higher” (meaning, time the MP’s sooner) after the meter ends.

You see, it’s not a inf. - it’s a loop, and after each jump the opponent gets closer to the ground. It’s probably the hardest CC loop to do, too – a real pain in the ass.

But it yields more damage than his pogo loop.
