WTS: Custom Arcade Stick - Europe only

I’m Tolga from Germany and I’m offering a custom arcade stick. The case is made of plywood (beech) and is painted in glossy black. It was made by a professional carpenter in a batch of 5 shells. The aluminium top was lasercut and is 2mm thick; made for a korean layout (35mm hole for Fanta sticks (MyoungShin / Crown / TaeYoung); 8 button Astro City) - size: 350mm x 200mm. It’s big enough to let your hands rest on it and very comfortable to play. The bottom is made of 2mm thick aluminium, too. Everything assembled, the finished stick weighs around 3,4kg.

My goal was to create something very close to real arcade panels; using just an aluminium panel with an adhesive label (high quality, laminated - made by Orafol), while keeping it durable (adhesive foil should last around 7 years; UV- and water-resistant) and stable. The downsides: changing the artwork is difficult compared to plexi tops and the artwork can be very expensive (e.g. clickandprint: ~8€ artwork + (3€ if your order is below 15€) + 5€ shipping). The cool thing about the completely modular top is, that you can exchange the button layout and switch between korean and japanese sticks without any problems. So, if you want to try out new layouts or switch your joystick, you can do it by just changing your aluminium top (when having a plexi top, you’d need to change the wooden top below and the plexi + artwork).

The following items are included (“base”):

  • black case
  • lasercut aluminium top (korean layout, without artwork!)
  • aluminium bottom (black painted)
  • DualStrike V2 (by bencao74, check arcadeforge.de)
  • MyoungShin Fanta in black (mid 2011 production) OR TaeYoung Fanta (also mid 2011) in green
  • Neutrik NAUSB port in black
  • daisy-chained quick disconnects for ground wiring
  • 11 + 4 crimped & soldered wires with quick disconnects (for buttons and joystick)
  • all necessary screws and nuts (V2A stainless steel, M4 hexagonal)
  • full metal countersunk washers (V2A stainless steel, very hard to find!)

For the list above I’m asking for 180€ + shipping (5,90€ in Germany, 15€ in Europe; no shipping to U.S. or Asia, sorry). I don’t ship to the U.S. / Asia due to the fact, that my arcade stick is overpriced for their market. For example: you can get a Hori HRAP V3SA for around 130$ @ amazon.com, here in Europe you pay around 140€. The current rate is at 1€ = 1,37$. As you see, I can’t (and I don’t want to) compete with stick builders outside Europe.

What you will still need:

  • 8 Sanwa / Seimitsu 30mm buttons
  • Artwork (adhesive foil)

I can get you the buttons from either arcadeshop.de (Germany) or Gremlin Solutions (London). The latter offers clear Sanwa buttons; but since I live in Germany, ordering there will result in a slightly delayed delivery. I won’t make any profit with it and buy for you 1:1. I can also get the artwork for you from clickandprint.de (approx. ~16€; but 2 artworks (e.g. one top, one bottom) will cost around ~21€). If you choose clear buttons, I can also offer you to install LEDs (on button press or always-on). For individual offers, shoot me a PM ;)!

DualStrike V2 offers auto-detection between Xbox360 (or any other pass-through), PS3 and PC; that’s why I chose it over a Mayflash / Datel / Paewang PCB. Also, the firmware is updateable and keeps improving. Most comparable to Cthulhu. It offers PS3/PC/MAME/Xbox1 support out of the box; with padhacking you can enable support for Xbox360. For an additional ~25€ (price might vary; depends on how cheap / expensive I can get a Madcatz FightPad), I can add Xbox360 support to your stick.

I’ve created this stick for one of belgium’s top Tekken players: NeoNinja! It offers PS3, PC and Xbox360 support (StreetFighter IV FightPad padhack).

This is my own stick ;)! Japanese layout (8-button Vewlix), white case, acrylic bottom (which makes the stick about 0,3kg lighter, ending up at 3.1kg), clear Sanwa buttons and Orafol adhesive artwork. Lightning <3!

I made this one for my bro. The artwork was my brother’s choice, judge for your own xD!

About the wiring: usually, I do a clean, basic wiring job. But if you want something special, like sleeving, just shoot me a PM, I’ll make you a custom offer. Of course, you can ask me about everything else.

I accept PayPal; for any other payment method, shoot me a PM ;). I can ship out the “base” within 1 day after receiving your payment. Some services / items will of course delay the shipping, like the artwork / buttons / Xbox360 padhack etc.

Well, this post is long enough now xD!

Greetings from Germany,

//Edit: I totally forgot the pics about the parts I’m selling -.-! Uploading now…

Good luck with your sale! Those are some nice cases and sticks.

And FYI to anyone interested, I use some orafol (oracal in the US) products (laminates for artwork as used in the sticks for sale) and it’s some quality stuff. It sticks real good to whatever your laminating. The UV protection is one of the main reasons I use it too.

The aluminum panels are really cool.
