Some of these (in progress) may have been posted before but oh well, going to make a list of setups and what they do not just off of forward throw but everything.

To begin:

Edit: Moving this to a document because of the limitations here, but for now enjoy the ryu setup. Will update when I have a good chunk of information.
Edit: This is the document in progress, if anyone would like to contribute feel free

Off point-blank sweep:

  1. Hold up-forward, hold up, hk dive kick (Aim for stomach) … Difficulty: 1
    (Ryu)
    Setup: 1[details=Spoiler]

-Wake up normal: Stuffed - Counter-hit

Notes:
-I really like this one as it looks completely unsafe from shoryukens but they all whiff.
-Shoryukens must be inputed backwards for them to come out, otherwise you’ll get some kind of normal and get hit out of it.[/details]

Spoiler

Off point-blank sweep:

Setups to get into sweep:

  1. Focus attack crumple
  2. Close.mk, jump forward heavy dive kick (hit), jump forward (when Yun turns around(faces same side as ryu)) heavy punch (crosses up)
  3. (corner) Close.mk, sweep.

[color=red]Note: Allows for full combo on hit
Dash forward, whiff standing jab, jump forward, light dive kick as opponent is coming up. (Apparently frame perfect as I cannot replicate after an hour, coming up with more though)

Putting this thread on hold for a day or two, will update with a clean post when I have solid setups.

Make sure to check out sakura because some very interesting things are happening there.
2nd note: Not extensively tested with all characters, just getting baseline info for all of them.
3rd note: Yun wasn’t blocking, some of the reversals might be blockable.
4th note: In the spoilers, the lines show what happens when you do the dive kick. So for instance “-Gets blocked” means the dive kick gets blocked and “-Gets hit” means the opponent gets hit by the dive kick. There is also currently only one setup and the spoilers contain the results of using this setup on each said character.

Therefore: expect to see a major revision on how this post is laid out and the information it provides. I did not have enough time before I started work today to note everything and thus just wrote down notes loosely on some of the cast.

So for now if you would also like to contribute your findings in a manner such as this please feel free, the forward/backwards throw setups will be added later as you can find those already on this forum.

Lots more to come will be updating as I find out better ways to do the setups I have for the characters I have.

#2

Some of these are pretty helpful. I hope Decapre’s hurtbox is identical to Cammy’s so we can just be lazy use the same setups. Good work.

#3

I’ll have to reformat later on so people don’t get mixed up. Cammy blows through this setup against yun. Yun is essentially useless against cammy using this setup as the dive kick whiffs unless she holds down back. So for instance. If cammy holds forward during the dive kick. The dive kick completely whiffs and cammy can get a full punish.

But unless you meant the setups to get into the sweep then ignore this post.

#4

Oh I didn’t see the cammy spoiler there. My bad. That sucks.

#5

Very nice set of information.
We don’t get a sweep that often tho. I often see myself do the reset at the end of GeneiJin, but that list might give me a better reason to end ins weep and try your setups.
If you do the same for setups after forward throw, I won’t know how to thank you enough lol.

#6

Thanks and I know sweeps are few and far between. But this isn’t the end of it. I’ve only started writing this and have only scratched the surface. I will be labbing it out hard these next few weeks to see what I can come up with. I’ll be testing out many things for every possible ender you can think of. I just started off writing with a single sweep setup and only a lk dive kick. There’s still medium and hard left

Edit: I’ve always been a fan of true safe pressure so I’ll be sure to test everything to make sure there’s ways to apply such pressure after anything Yun does.

#7

One of the reasons I do not list setups is because its nearly impossible in writing to describe the manual delay necessary for divekick “setplays” to do what you want them to. For example delaying divekick or jump input can be the difference between crossup, frontside, or reversal safe. Yun’s best oki divekicks cannot be setup like normal safejump timing. I’d be willing to show most people how a lot of them work if they asked. I do not have a recording device to be able to show whats possible though.
